PIPELINE EXPLOSION IN SHREVEPORT, LOUISANA

In 2016, a natural gas pipeline leak caused a fiery explosion, killing a homeowner in Shreveport, Louisiana. Bryant was engaged to investigate the cause of the pipeline leak. During our investigation, we observed collapsed or caved-in soils adjacent to the leaking gas pipeline. Using a three-dimensional modeling software along with our detailed understanding of the subsurface and its properties, we were able to show that the caved-in soils resulted in an imbalance of forces cause the deadly leak in the rigid natural gas pipeline.
