VAPOR INTRUSION: The intrusion of volatile organic chemicals originating from hazardous waste sites can pose a risk to human health. Evaluation of the vapor intrusion pathways enables homeowners, practitioners, and regulators to determine whether vapor intrusion at a site might be a concern. One important step to evaluate the risk of vapor intrusion is to accurately characterize the contaminated site. We use geophysical surveys combined with comprehensive geological and geotechnical evaluations to generate an accurate conceptual/quantitative model of the subsurface, which can then be used to develop predictive numerical models to quantify the risk of vapor intrusion.
METHANE LEAKAGE: In the case of a large-scale methane leakage incident, an accurate characterization of the subsurface is necessary. Our unique subsurface characterization capabilities along with advanced modeling tools can help our clients quantify the extent and magnitude of the methane leakage as well and explore appropriate mitigation measures.
