ASSESSMENTS AND TESTING

DECADES OF EXPERIENCE ENSURING ENVELOPE PERFORMANCE

BUILDING ENVELOPE ASSESSEMENT AND TESTING

Bryant’s envelope specialists have performed hundreds of envelope tests and assessments.  Our clients—ranging from public universities and building owners to general contractors and architects—rely on our specialized expertise to provide a range of envelope assessment and testing services to maximize the longevity and performance of their assets.

INFRARED THERMOGRAPHY

The majority of our field staff are level II certified infrared thermographers who utilize infrared (IR) thermography and aerial IR to identify sources of air leakage, water intrusion, and thermal performance of wall, roof, and floor assemblies. Infrared thermography has proven to be a priceless tool in evaluating the performance of building envelopes new and old.

AIR BARRIER PERFORMANCE TESTING

We perform air barrier tests in accordance with ASTM E-779 to fulfill the requirements of the US Army Corps of Engineers and other state and local energy codes. We often perform pressure testing in conjunction with IR testing, and theatrical smokers to pinpoint areas of potential water and air intrusion.

WATER PENETRATION TESTING

Our envelope specialists have performed hundreds of water penetration tests on multi-family residential windows, storefront, and curtain-wall systems, both new and old. We perform testing per ASTM E-1105, AAMA 501.2, AAMA 502, AAMA 503 and other applicable state and local codes.

CONSTRUCTION OBSERVATIONS

Our experienced field staff provide third party observations during construction, utilizing a working knowledge of proven thermal, air, and moisture barrier techniques. Our inspectors are knowledgeable and able to make recommendations on site to avoid disrupting construction.
